Davina M Bowman is a board-certified PA. She began her education at Liberty University where she majored in Public Health with a concentration in Health Promotion. After graduating, she worked with individuals that had psychiatric and addiction histories as a Case Manager during the COVID-19 pandemic in NYC. After her engagement with her clients, their medical providers, and community, Davina attended the University of Lynchburg for Masters of PA Medicine. She is currently completing her Doctor of Medical Science degree in Behavioral and Addiction Medicine while working as a Psychiatric and Addiction Medicine PA Fellow for the practice with Julie A Romeis.
Davina has been shaped by her military dependent upbringing and working with her Case Management clients to achieve their goals. Davina has a strong interest in addiction and substance use disorders, mood disorders, anxiety disorders, and attention deficit disorder.
Davina is a Certified Health Education Specialist and has a deep-rooted passion for education: patient education and continual personal education. She enjoys physical activity, travel, spending time with her parents and sister, reading, and trying something new.
Since her time in Public Health, Davina has always approached patient interactions as a partnership guided by the patient and the aspects that shape their life. She is excited to work and learn from Julie A Romeis as she has a similar patient approach:
“Julie takes a holistic approach to psychiatric care, taking into account all aspects of a patient’s life. Julie’s philosophy is to let the patient lead their own care by empowering them with the knowledge they need to make medical and lifestyle decisions. Her goal is to help patients be their best selves by being a personal guide along their unique path to a fulfilling life.”
