Layne Hartnell is a board-certified physician assistant that has a desire to improve the lives of patient through medication management and supportive psychotherapy in her role as a psychiatric provider. Layne obtained her Bachelor of Science degree from West Liberty University in human biology, where she also competed in DII women’s soccer. She went on to complete her Master of Health Science at West Virginia University. She is passionate about the field of psychiatry and is able to help patients with their psychological health to become the best version of themself. She creates a safe space for
patients to be vulnerable and collaborative to determine the best course of treatment.
Layne has implemented Spravato Inhalation Treatment within the office of MD Psychiatry, she has trained and helped other practitioners in the office with policy, procedure, scheduling, and patient care.
Layne has a strong interest in all aspects of psychological health and patients across the lifespan, including but not limited to: anxiety disorders, depression, bipolar disorder, ADHD, OCD, personality disorders, addiction. She also enjoys precepting students from several PA programs. Layne enjoys expanding her knowledge by reading and researching new topics regarding new psychiatric advances. She has learned from her colleagues and experience to become a respected, trustworthy, and knowledgeable provider.
In her free time, she enjoys traveling, spending time with family and friends, exploring new restaurants, exercise, and spending time with her cat.
