Jessica Shields PMHNP-BC is an astute, seasoned, board-certified nurse practitioner with extensive experience in psychiatry, psychology, and primary care. She is an expert in diagnosing, treating, and prescribing medication for adolescents, adults, and geriatrics. She has twelve years of psychiatric, psychotherapy, and medical experience. She has had the privilege of working in many settings: inpatient, outpatient, and urgent/emergent settings, and enjoys working with a variety of age groups. Jessica’s goal is to improve your psychological and emotional health as well as your overall well-being to function at your best. She utilizes a holistic person-centered approach to provide quality, compassionate, culturally sensitive, and evidence-based psychiatric care.
Mrs. Shields experience includes ADHD, Depression, Anxiety, Bipolar, and Schizophrenia. Jessica has a special interest in treating ADHD. Jessica’s style of practice can be traditional (prescribing up-to-date psychiatric medications) or alternative medicines (natural treatments including but not limited to vitamins, supplements, lifestyle modification- diet, exercise, etc.). She enjoys collaborating with her patients to ensure an efficient care plan is in place for optimal patient outcomes. She believes in holistic treatment; focusing on the mind/body/spiritual connection, and believes that we should be treated with all of our body systems in mind and that our bodies are not merely a series of parts that should be treated exclusively.
