Julie A Romeis is a board certified, doctorally educated PA. She has worked off and on in the medical field for nearly three decades. She began her education at the University at Buffalo where she double majored in Psychology and Biology. She began her medical career in college working in small animal veterinary medicine. Over the years she has expanded on those beginnings to be a CNA working with geriatric patients, attending the University of Lynchburg for Masters of PA Medicine and Doctor of Medical Science degrees, and completing a fellowship in Psychiatry and Addiction Medicine.
Julie has a strong interest in the things that have shaped her family through the years, specifically: addiction, bipolar disorder, personality disorders, and attention deficit disorder. Additionally, Julie has a passion for education: both patient education and PA education. She is an adjunct faculty member at the University of Lynchburg where she teaches in the Doctor of Medical Science Psychiatry track. She also precepts PA students from several different universities.
Julie is also an avid yoga enthusiast and is certified to teach both Vinyasa Flow and Yoga of 12 Steps. In her free time she enjoys being outdoors, traveling, and spending time with her teenage children, cats, siblings, and many nieces and nephews.
Julie takes a holistic approach to psychiatric care, taking into account all aspects of a patient’s life. Julie’s philosophy is to let the patient lead their own care by empowering them with the knowledge they need to make medical and lifestyle decisions. Her goal is to help patients be their best selves by being a personal guide along their unique path to a fulfilling life.
