About Sneha Saxena
Intern

Sneha Saxena is an undergraduate student at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill, pursuing a bachelor’s degree in Neuroscience and Sociology, with a minor in Data Science. In her time at UNC, Sneha has taken Neuropsychopharmacology, in which she explored and designed experimental research for the role of serotonin in the neural reward pathways of mice.

Sneha’s psychiatry interest has only peaked in the 6 years she has spent working with the neurodivergent youth, specifically in the educational environments of sports mentoring and academic tutoring. Additionally, she has also spent time as a Machine Learning intern at Lenovo. During this time, she analyzed COVID-19, MRI/fMRI, and EEG datasets to enhance medical diagnostics, cultivating a passion and deeper understanding of the application of deep neural networks in healthcare. She hopes to continue her education and pursue a medical degree.

At MDP, Sneha is a medical scribing intern and will be seen working with physicians and providers to accurately document patient encounters.

In her down time, she enjoys reading psychology books, pottery painting, custom Lego building, and any kind of community involvement.
